Established in 2003, the annual Alway in Bloom competition has helped to get people of all ages actively involved in improving the environment of their community.
Since the formation of the Alway in Bloom committee, there has been an increased interest in the local environment as well as pride in the maintenance of residences in Alway. The number of entrants into the Glorious Garden competition has increased each year with a record number of entrants this year to the three categories; Best Front Garden, Best Back Garden and Hanging Baskets. As part of the wider “Wales in Bloom” Alway has won awards for the past three yearsoin the beginners category and will be ebtering into the next scale in 2007.
If you are interested in becoming part of the Alway in Bloom committee undertaking projects in public spaces, getting young people involved in respecting the environment or coordinating and entering the Alway in Bloom Glorious Gardens Competition, download an application form and send it back to Alway Community Office.
