Partnership Working

Alway Community Association recognises that partnership working is the key to realising changes in the community. Alway Community Association works with partners at every given opportunity as no one sector can effect the changes needed alone. For more information on Partnership working see Communities First.

Consultation

Consultation was undertaken in Alway in 2004 for which a number of action points were determined. Alway Community Association through its Local Partnership Board and Sub Groups have been taking these action points forward. Outcomes from this have been the establishment of comprehensive youth and sports programmes, regeneration of the estate based on the needs of the community which will be commencing in March 2007, the establishment of a number of projects such as a local Credit Union, Fruit & Veg Co-op, Surgeries and Lunch Club as well as redevelopment of areas such as Lliswerry Pond and Alway Amateur Boxing Hall. As we are on the cusp of regeneration Alway Community Association will be undertaking more consultation over the coming year to establish any changes to the needs of the community over the past three years and integrate these ideas into the services that can be provided and negotiated for the community in the coming years.
