About Us
In 1998 a group of residents got together to conduct a feasibility/research project about housing during which they decided that if they worked together they could make a difference to their community. As a result of the housing report Alway Community Association became a voluntary organisation and opened an office base in 2001.
The ongoing Alway Regeneration scheme has now resulted in an enhanced office within the new community centre.
Since this time the Association has gone from strength to strength attracting outside agencies, funding and staff into the community to conduct projects, training and events.
All projects organised under the umbrella of Alway Community Association are given support to set up, plan, source funding, recruit members and get involved in the community network. Projects are encouraged to become sustainable by providing groups with access to training and activities to improve their skills, knowledge and confidence. |
